In honor of “Fan Appreciation Day” in Tokyo, Michael Jackson offered fans a chance to spend a minute with the King of Pop. For $3,400 US they got a hand shake and if they were lucky a picture. Jackson also offered a bargain rate of $130 to join him on stage for a quick rendition of “You Are Not Alone.”
Jacko must be planning to hire a few more cowboys for his Neverland Ranch with rates that steep. Or maybe this was just REALLY expensive lip liner. Picture courtesy of x17online.

The family of a woman who died two years ago is suing Michael Jackson and a California hospital, claiming the gravely ill patient was moved to make room for the pop star when he arrived with flu symptoms. The complaint was filed against Jackson and Marian Medical Center on the second anniversary of the death of 73-year-old Manuela Gomez Ruiz.
The family had previously complained publicly that Ruiz, who had suffered a heart attack and was on life support, was suddenly moved to make way for Jackson, whose admission to the hospital caused cancellation of a court session in his child molestation trial.
Ruiz suffered a second heart attack and died later that day.
A statement from the hospital said the suit is a “frivolous claim to generate publicity.”
Expressing sympathy for the Ruiz family’s loss, the statement added, “Patient care and safety is always our priority” and expressed confidence that Ruiz received exceptional care.
Jackson spokeswoman Raymone K. Bain was not available for comment.
Lawyer James McKiernan of San Luis Obispo, who filed the suit, said that a circus-like atmosphere at the hospital due to Jackson’s arrival caused “emotional and mental lasting effects” on the Ruiz family.
“Manuela Ruiz was dying,” the suit said.
“Michael Jackson was also dying … dying not to go to court that day.”
The pop star was later acquitted of the child molestation charges.
Two years to file a law suit? Wouldn’t you put “take legal action” somewhere at the top of your to-do list? Atleast I don’t feel so bad about my laundry piling up anymore…
