E! Is Apparently Blind to Their Own Stories

One would think, that after countless hours of reporting on Nicole Ritchie’s possible eating disorder, E! network would probably see why filming the newest season of The Simple Life at a fat camp would be a bad idea.
Maybe they are giving their own Joel McHale something to joke about on The Soup. Or maybe they just have a sick sense of humor… but Us Magazine confirms that Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie are going to be camp counselors this year.
“They are going to be camp counselors at one camp in the Southern California Mountains,” says an E! spokesperson to Us Magazine. “The camp has five different themes. Each week will be a different theme. And yes, one week is a weight loss/fitness camp. It’s not a fat camp.”
So they say it’s not a fat camp, but after looking at the pictures, I would say it is. Not that there is anything wrong with it. I applaud these teenagers for taking a step in the right direction as far as their health goes.
What is wrong however, is E! having one of their camp counselors for the week be a celebutante who has admitted to suffering from an eating disorder, and who was hospitalized two weeks ago for “dehydration”. Come on folks… when was the last time you forgot to drink something?
